Is Same-Day Court Marriage Legal?
Yes — under Hindu Marriage Act 1955, Section 8, the Registrar of Marriages can solemnise and register a marriage on the same day, provided both partners are Hindu / Sikh / Jain / Buddhist by religion and have undergone a religious wedding (Arya Samaj works perfectly). Under the Special Marriage Act 1954, a mandatory 30-day notice period applies — same-day is not possible by law on that route.

Cannot Do Same-Day? Here's Your Alternative
If you're inter-faith or one partner is non-Hindu, you must use the Special Marriage Act route, which requires a 30-day notice. See Special Marriage Act process. Still much cheaper and cleaner than waiting for a temple ceremony abroad.
Same-Day Marriage — FAQs
Is it really legal? Police won't object later?
100% legal under HMA Section 8. The Form-V issued by SDM Tis Hazari is the same certificate issued for traditional weddings — there's no legal distinction. We've done 1,400+ same-day weddings without a single objection.
What if my documents are wrong on the day?
That's why we insist on free WhatsApp verification 24 hours in advance. If we say "you're ready", you're ready. If something is off, we tell you exactly what to fix and don't book the slot until you're 100% ready.
Can my parents attend?
Of course. Parents, friends, anyone you want can be at the Mandir ceremony. The SDM appearance is brief (15 min) and only the couple + 2 witnesses need to be present there.
Is there a "rush" fee or tip to officials?
Never. Our ₹12,100 is final. We pay government fees from our side. We do not pay or accept any unofficial money — at all. If anyone asks for "chai-pani" at the SDM, walk away and call us.
