What If You Don't Have...
No 10th Certificate or Birth Certificate?
Use your passport as DOB proof. If neither, an Aadhaar with clear DOB + a notarised age affidavit works at Tis Hazari SDM. We draft the affidavit for you.
No Delhi Address Proof?
For HMA Section 8, Delhi address is not strictly required if marriage was solemnised in Delhi. For SMA, at least one partner must have 30-day Delhi residence proof (hotel bill, rent agreement, utility bill in your name).
Aadhaar Showing Old Address?
That's fine for HMA route. For SMA, we use a current rent agreement / utility bill as supplementary proof. Aadhaar update is not required.
One Partner is Foreign National?
Bring: foreign passport, valid Indian visa (tourist OK), Certificate of No Impediment from your country's embassy in India (some countries don't issue this — we have workarounds), and 30-day Delhi residence proof.
Document Self-Attestation
All photocopies should be self-attested (signed by you with date). At Tis Hazari SDM, they verify against originals — so always bring originals on the appointment day.
